Description
Sign up for our Fundamental Lindy Hop Course if you're brand new to Swing Dance, or if you want to get back into it after a break!
Our teachers will use their experience and deep knowledge of Swing Dance to tailor the teaching of these fundamental dance moves directly to your development as a group of dancers, focusing in where needed and expanding your repertoire when the timing is just right!
After each class, you’re invited to stay, socialise, and practice what you’ve learned. We’ll play the songs you’ve just danced to and others with the same feel, so you can keep moving at your own pace. Once the intensity of the lesson fades, you’ll find that this is where the real learning happens: on the dance floor, relaxing into the music and dancing with each other.
Lindy Hop is a social dance, so you will sign up as a Lead (traditionally the person leading the dance) or a Follow (traditionally the person responding to the leader) and roles are non-gender specific. We rotate partners throughout the class, so you can either sign up as a Couple or as a Single Lead or as a single Follow - we are a friendly bunch!
We work hard to keep class numbers even, so if you spot that a role has sold out, sign up to the Wait List and we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available

You will need to have completed at least 2 rounds of the 6 week Fundamentals course to join this group where the teachers will continue building your repertoire, skills and confidence on the dance floor.
You will need to have completed at least 3 rounds of the 6 week Improvers course to join this group where the teachers will continue building your repertoire, skills and confidence on the dance floor.
Join The Swing Era's annual Halloween swing dance for a spooky night of costumes, social dancing, a beginner taster lesson, great music and prizes. Costumes encouraged, all welcome—come solo or with friends for a frightfully fun evening!
